Hastings - who made more than 50 Scotland appearances, as well as receiving a handful of British and Irish Lions caps - is also auctioning his Lions jersey for MND Scotland as part of the opening.

The office is insurance broker Howden’s 14th in Scotland. It will be spearheaded by Frances Grant and Steven Ingram, who bring a wealth of experience and expertise as account executives.

The decision to establish an office in Elgin comes as part of what Howden’s are calling their strategic expansion plan.

"We are thrilled to bring Howden’s exceptional services closer to businesses in Elgin and surrounding areas,” Steven said.

“Our mission is not only to provide top-tier insurance solutions, but also to actively engage with and contribute to the local community.”

Howden’s new office will serve as a hub for businesses seeking comprehensive risk management solutions and insurance advisory services.

Graeme Christie, commercial director at Howden Scotland, added: “This is a great and strategic location for us with talented new team members, we love local and being close to our clients.

“As we continue to invest in Scotland we expect to deliver new locations and substantial expansion of existing offices.”
