A SECTION of pavement on Batchen Street has been cordoned off due to damage caused by Storm Otto.

The storm, which hit overnight from Thursday (February 16) into Friday, damaged masonry on the building that homes Sirology, Grierson Wealth Management, K&M Barbers and a number of residential flats.

All businesses remain open as usual.

Moray Council said the pavement was closed "in the interests of public safety owing to a dangerous building".

The council said that the pavement will remain closed until Thursday, February 23.

However, business owners have not been given a concrete date for the path's reopening.
