Seven new community councillors elected in Dyke and Landward

SEVEN new community council members have been elected in Dyke and Landward after the conclusion of the postal vote and count for the area.

Eight candidates put their names forward, with seven elected after the vote finished with a turnout of 32.8 per cent.

Margaret Tulloch received 209 votes, Jackie Davidson 194, Jane McLean 130, Caroline Macleod 127, Steve Arkley 125, Lindsey Standring 122 and Carl Wright 103.

The only candidate not elected was Paul Price, who received 94 votes.

The inaugural meeting of the community council will take place on Wednesday, January 12, at 7pm with Moray Council’s Community Council Liaison Officer (CCLO).

The meeting, which will take place on Zoom, will be chaired by the CCLO initially and the business of the meeting will be community council member induction, constitutional matters and election of the office bearers.
