Should new Forres school be built in Roysvale Park?

A five-day investigation starts today to see whether the ground at Roysvale Park makes it a suitable site for building the future Forres Academy.
The park will still be available for public use during the rest of this week, however certain areas will be zoned off.
Roysvale Park, which is opposite the current school, is one of three potential sites being considered by Moray Council.
The other two are Lochyhill and Grantown Road.
An investigation has already taken place into the viability of Lochyhill, which lies to the east of the town, near Forbes Hill.
It’s known that the Grantown Road site has a high-pressure mains gas pipe cutting through it. Confirmation is needed on safe distances from this pipeline to determine the feasibility of building there.
Funding to build the new academy was secured last month.
Meanwhile, sections of the existing school building remain closed to students following the discovery of faulty concrete.
