Kind-hearted and selfless are just two of the attributes Moray’s many fundraisers and carers share.

At this year’s Moray & Banffshire Heroes Awards, such generosity, compassion and kindness, where other people's needs are put ahead of their own, will be recognised and celebrated with two important accolades; fundraiser of the year and carer of the year. The award for fundraiser of the year recognises those who devote their time and efforts to raise funds for local charities or causes.

Sponsoring the fundraiser of the year award in 2020 is Lossiemouth-based Morscot Utilities, an independent energy and utilities consultancy company.

Morscot Utilities director Paul Mulholland is delighted to be sponsoring the award.

He said: "We are lucky to live among so many kind-hearted people who devote their time and energy to helping local charities and causes.

"It's wonderful to be able to give recognition and show appreciation to some of those fantastic fundraisers and celebrate their great fundraising efforts.

"They make a huge difference in their communities enriching the lives of so many."

The carer of the year award will be presented to an individual who cares for a loved one and who has made personal sacrifices in order to attend to the needs of others.

Parklands Care Homes, one of the largest independent care home providers in the north of Scotland, is sponsoring the carer of the year award.

"Carers are the unsung heroes of our times, quietly supporting their loved ones with grace and dignity.

"It is important that we honour their selfless commitment to others.”
