SISTERS Katie (15) and Lilly Dunbar (12) have been doing their bit to keep neighbours entertained during lockdown in Keith.

The girls have been dancing, piping and drumming every Thursday night at the Clap for Carers.

One neighbour at their Braeside street has been so moved, she phoned the Herald to say: "They have been performing every week, they are just brilliant and very talented girls."

The woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, said the girls have cheered up all the residents in the neighbourhood.

Their mum Deborah said the girls starting taking part in the Thursday night clap because their aunt Jodie Moir, who also lives in Keith, is a nurse at Dr Gray's Hospital.

The Keith Grammar pupils are both members of Strathisla Pipe Band - Katie is a piper and Lilly a tenor drum - and also members of the Jessiman School of Dance.

Deborah said: "They have been going to dancing since they were three and both started with the pipe band aged eight. Lilly has started to learn the fiddle but is not confident enough yet to play it publicly."

Deborah and husband Steven are proud of the girls and delighted that their performances have been well received by neighbours.
