THE Arc Sessions is preparing to play host to the award-winning band Skerryvore for the second year in a row.

The May 3 concert at Fochabers Institute comes at the end of the group's world tour in support of their latest album Evo.

Since its release in 2018, the group – which performs a unique fusion of folk, trad, rock and Americana – has played at venues across Europe, America and Australia.

Mhairi Marwick, who runs the Arc Sessions, said: "We are so excited to welcome Skerryvore back to Fochabers and know that we’re in for a treat!

"It'll be a really special night celebrating the end of their worldwide tour and amazing that the second last gig is in Fochabers."

Opening the night will be the advanced students from Fochabers Fiddle Week, which is run every year by Mhairi and fellow musician Jack Smedley.

It gives young fiddlers in the area, aged from 13 to 17, the opportunity to receive great tuition from some of the best fiddle players Scotland has to offer, with this year's guest tutor Ewen Henderson from Manran.

Tickets for the May 3 concert can be bought online from www.arcsessions.com or from Christie’s Chemist in Fochabers.
