The Banff Academy duo have raised more than £3500 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

That earned them the Secondary Pupil of the Year trophy at the Moray and Banffshire Heroes awards.

Caitlin brought the house down at the awards event when she admitted she felt guilty at collecting the award on the night - as they have still to complete their skydive challenge.

However, it was the weather that left them grounded and they will rearrange the jump.

"I feel a bit guilty because we haven't been able to do it yet," she said at the awards dinner in the Mansefield Hotel in Elgin on Thursday night. The award was sponsored by Moray College UHI.

Caitlin (17), a sixth year pupil, collected the award on her own as Rosey (17) was unable to attend the event.

"We need to rebook our jump and it will be some time this year. We have been waiting for the weather to get better," said Caitlin.

"We went down and did the training (last September), but the weather wasn't right for it. It was cloudy and raining and had to leave it that day, but we got the training and that lasts a year."

They haven't been able to reschedule the jump yet due to weather and exam pressures.

Asked why they chose the Teenage Cancer Trust, Caitlin explained: "I think because of our age. We can't really imagine having to go through something like that as well as normal teenage problems, so we wanted to support them."
