Schools in speyside and Keith were the worst affected, with ten schools unable to open due to the snow and extreme road conditions.

As of 11am today, the following ten schools were closed:

  • Keith Grammar School (closed at 10.25am)
  • Keith Primary School (only closed to bus transport pupils)
  • Aberlour Primary
  • Tomintoul Primary and Nursery
  • Mortlach Primary and Nursery
  • Rothes Primary
  • Glenlivet Primary
  • Knockando Primary
  • Craigellachie Primary
  • Speyside High

The closures come alongside similar disruptions in Aberdeenshire, which were announced last night.

Pupils at affected schools were told to check their online home learning resources.
