A LEGENDARY soul band is promising a gig "people will remember for years to come" when they headline a Lossiemouth fundraiser this month.

Only a few tickets remain for Geno Washington & the Ram Jam Band at Moray's Got Soul on Saturday, October 19, at the town hall in aid of Lossiemouth Community Development Trust.

The gig was originally conceived to help lift the community's East Beach bridge appeal before the Scottish Government stepped in with a funding pledge.

The Ram Jam Band's Steve Bingham said: "We're all really looking forward to coming to Lossiemouth as we all love playing in Scotland. The audiences always make us welcome and are ready to participate in the enjoyment of a Geno gig, which I hope will be remembered for years to come.

"Geno is an amazing performer who always engages the crowd and it's going to be a barnstorming gig full of high-tempo energy with a lot of laughs too, as Geno is also a very funny guy who loves to make people happy."

The "soul king" last played in the north, in Inverness, a decade ago.

Organiser Andy Macdonald, owner and director of YBD Music, has secured two of Moray's biggest names – The Roov and Edgar Road – to set the stage. The headliners will perform a one-hour set and the show will be opened by Verii.

Raffle prizes include hotel stays, signed band T-shirts and Athletico Madrid top and meal vouchers.

Tickets, costing £25, are available at http://skiddle.com/e/13621208.
