A ROTHES couple had a very special Christmas delivery when their baby was born at home.
Little Braxton Charlie Issac Davidson arrived at 5.21am on Christmas Day, five days later than expected, weighing 9lb 2oz.
Braxton is the third son for Linzi (30) and Stuart Davidson (31), of Green Street. The newborn has two doting big brothers in Nathan (12) and Joseph (3).
It was the first home birth experience for the couple, who are originally from Manchester and have lived in Rothes since February last year, where Stuart works as head chef at the Station Hotel.
Linzi said the labour progressed quickly, with their midwife arriving just 10 minutes before Braxton made an appearance. The couple had planned to use a birthing pool but never got the chance.
The delighted mum said: "I really wanted a hands-off birth.
"I had done it twice before and, with lockdowns etc, I felt more confident about being at home for the birth.
"Our midwives, Connie and Katherine, were just amazing."
She added: "Braxton's brothers absolutely dote on him – our younger one constantly wants to hold him."
Maternity staff at Dr Gray's Hospital presented baby and parents with a handmade wooden Christmas star and a hand-knitted baby hat.
The couple's wider families live in Manchester and Cyprus so Linzi and Stuart are resigned to the fact that it may be a while before they can meet Braxton amid the Covid-19 restrictions.
