Spreading the love with Keith Cares Club
The first meeting of the new Keith Cares Club has been hailed as a resounding success.
Held at Longmore Hall in Keith at the weekend, the event brought people of all ages together for a spring tea, cake sale and raffle, raising over £900.
These funds will support the residents’ comfort fund at two care homes in Keith – Glenisla on Banff Road and Weston View on Sellar Crescent.
The money will also contribute to future community activities for the residents as well as support other local charitable causes.
Brenda Harper, manager of Glenisla said: “We had a fantastic response to our first Keith Cares Club event and it was lovely to see people of all ages enjoying themselves. The Friendly Town really did live up to its name.
“The support and enthusiasm shown by everyone who attended underscores the importance of initiatives like the Keith Cares Club in combating social isolation and building stronger bonds within our town.
“We're immensely grateful to the teams from both homes who volunteered, and we look forward to continuing to create meaningful experiences for our residents and the wider community."
The two homes are already planning their next major event, a tombola on June 12th, once again at Longmore Hall.
In the meantime, plans are also afoot for a lunch club in the town and a community garden project, both aimed at further enhancing the well-being of care home residents and fostering stronger ties with the wider community.
