Nicola Sturgeon has urged people in Scotland to "abide by the law that applies here".

In her briefing this lunchtime, the First Minister stated that the public north of the border should not "get distracted by messages from other parts of the UK".

Ms Sturgeon added that Scots should continue to "stay at home" – with the exception from today of being allowed to go outside to exercise more than once a day.

On Sunday evening Boris Johnson outlined some relaxations of the lockdown restrictions.

People in England will now be permitted to sunbathe in local parks with other members of their household.

Those in jobs such as construction and manufacturing are also being encouraged to go back to work this week.

However the UK government is advising people to avoid taking public transport if at all possible.

In reply, Ms Sturgeon said: "I think the prime minister has to make it clearer when he is talking only for England."

She added: "That is not, let me stress, for any political reason, it is because the Scottish Government is not yet confident these changes can be made safely in Scotland yet without running the risk of the virus potentially running out of control again.

"So Scotland's lockdown restrictions remain in place for now."
