A MAN who breached non-harassment orders by contacting two ex-partners has appeared in court.

.

Adriano Volpi contacted one of the women, who lives in Moray, via her Instagram account.

His message said: "How amazing, I only set this up last week and you're already following me".

The message was accompanied by several emojis.

Elgin Sheriff Court heard that the woman immediately reported the matter to the police.

In addition, the 43-year-old harassed another ex-partner between June and November.

In one message he said: "It's your fault I'm behind bars."

Volpi also spent time outside the woman's flat, ringing her buzzer and demanding to be let inside.

Defence solicitor Robert Cruickshank said that Volpi, who lives in Aberdeen, had been of good behaviour since the offences took place.

Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood extended the non-harassment orders by three years and placed Volpi under the court's supervision for the same period.

Passing sentence, the Sheriff said: "Breachment of a non-harassment order should be taken very seriously."
