Dementia cafés in Buckie and Forres were created last year by Anne Heinrich, a local dementia advisor with Alzheimers Scotland.

The Buckie group, which meets on the last Monday of every month at the Riverside Christian Centre, East Church Street, starts again this Monday, January 28 from 2-4pm.

And a similar café in Forres, which meets at the bowling club on St Catherine’s Road, will resume on Tuesday, February 5 from 10am to 12noon.

Mrs Heinrich said: "This is an opportunity for those with dementia, their carers and family members to meet up for a cuppa in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

"We look to give out information and advice," she added, "share experiences and meet new people."
