HOPEMAN'S 3rd Loony Dook takes place at the East Beach tomorrow, with swimmers going into the water at 2pm.

Those who wish can take a bracing dip in the North Sea to start the new year with a splash, at their own risk, and spectators are also very welcome.

There will be a fire and marshmallows and Hopeman Costcutters are delivering hot drinks.

After the informal daring dip, the Braemou bar on Cooper Street is putting on soup and sandwiches for the dookers.

Swimmers can wear whatever they like – from fancy dress to a wetsuit – and anything goes, from dipping your toes to full submersion.

Visit the group's Facebook page to let the Loony Dookers know if you intend to take part.

A collection bucket will be taking donations for Hopeman Scout group.
