THE Active Schools team hope the exercise challenge will inspire people in Moray to be active every day in February.

The challenge is run by sportscotland and aims to highlight the importance of daily exercise.

Moray Council’s Sport and Culture Service Manager, Kim Slater said: “The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has been an extremely difficult time for people of all age groups across Moray.

“Now more than ever, it’s important that we do what we can to look after our physical and mental wellbeing and the challenge is a fun way to help our communities stay active."

The challenge is free of charge and is open to all age groups and all types of physical activity are encouraged. The Active schools team hope that lots of Moray locals will participate and have also committed to the taking part in the exercise challenge themselves.

Mrs Slater, said: “Members of the Moray Active Schools team have also pledged to undertake a sporting activity or exercise each day throughout February which will see them get involved in activities such as running; swimming; football; walking; yoga; biking and attending the gym.”

Users can tag the schools team in their exercise social media posts using the hashtag #ActiveEveryDay and sign up to the challenge on the Moray Active Schools website to receive helpful activity ideas and motivational encouragement throughout the month.
