Threat to strip Black Lives Matter signs from Inverness bridge

Anti-racism and Black Lives Matter signs will be taken off a bridge in Inverness if they are not removed today.

A variety of messages appeared in Inverness city centre over the weekend, prompted by the death of George Floyd while in police custody in the United States last month.

A Highland Council spokesman said: "We understand that the organisers will be removing the signs.

"If the signs are not removed on the bridge by later today, they will be removed by council officers by tomorrow morning."
