The business usually donates a door annually, but this year decided to donate cash to charities that have been particularly badly affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Owner Alex Lauriston said: "We decided to give the money to charities that have been hit by Covid.

"We asked people online to tell us their favourite Moray charities and these three were the most popular.

"We decided to split the £1000 between them. The charities are grateful and say they can do a lot with the amount of money."

The three charities were pleased to receive their share of £1000.

Karen Cox of Outfit Moray said: “We are absolutely delighted and hugely grateful to Alex for his very generous donation.

"We always appreciate support from local businesses and donations like this are vital to help us continue our work delivering life-changing outdoor learning and adventure activities for young people in Moray, particularly those who are vulnerable or disadvantaged."

Ladybird Group administrator Ann Ingram said: "We are extremely grateful for this support as our funds have suffered a lot due to the pandemic.

"We rely very much on public support to keep operating and Alex's kindness and generosity is very much appreciated."

Lossie 2-3 Group manager Louise McBride added: "We would like to thank Alex for his kind donation to The Lossie 2-3 group, this will go a long way towards our on going community projects”
