The Findhorn Bay Festival is set to return in September with music, theatre, dancing, exhibitions and family fun.

Tickets are now on sale for shows throughout the 10-day event, which takes place every other year.

Local singer-songwriters Brother Sea and Oran will perform at the opening concert at Forres Town Hall, with the latter launching her debut album Rebellious Rebirth, which is inspired by Moray’s landscape.

In ‘Steppin Out’ the vocalist Kurt Elling will be at Elgin Town Hall with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra.

This collaboration will see Elling showcase his virtuosity through a selection of songs drawn from Sinatra's iconic albums, the Basie and Ellington big band classics, plus 1980s pop hits by the Police and Joe Jackson.

Another highlight is The Breath, who comprise Manchester-based guitarist Stuart McCallum and singer/flautist Ríoghnach Connolly.

Also performing are Inge Thomson and Fraser Fifield, two of Scottish music’s most fearless pioneers, who combine exquisite vocals with accordion, whistles, sax, kaval and electronics.

In addition, the festival is welcoming back the National Theatre of Scotland with ‘June Carter Cash: The Woman, Her Music and Me’ – the story of one of country music's most iconic voices.

Added to that is Hooligan Chorus, a five-day performance in partnership with a theatre company from the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv.

The closing concert will feature festival favourite Su-a Lee who will be joined by Duncan Chisholm, Donald Shaw and Hamish Napier Music.

Also taking part on the same evening will be an international collaboration between Dopey Monkey (Moray) and Jean Luc Thomas and Gab Fraure (Brittany).

The 5th Findhorn Bay Festival is set to take place from Friday, September 20, until Sunday, September 29. A full programme will be launched in July.

Tickets from findhornbayfestival.com or 01309 673137. They can also be bought in person from the festival box office on 98 High Street, Forres.
