With less than two weeks to go until tourism businesses and stakeholders from Moray Speyside and beyond gather for the 2019 Moray Speyside Tourism annual conference organisers have today announced not only the final line-up of speakers for the event but that more than half of the available tickets have been issued.

The Moray Speyside Tourism conference is a keystone event in the region’s tourism calendar and the largest annual tourism industry event in Moray.

The conference, sponsored by Harper Macleod, will offer Moray’s tourism businesses and stakeholders the opportunity to meet, share insight and hear of new important industry developments.

Conference content is aimed at equipping tourism businesses with the tools and techniques they need to be ready for the future and the ever-changing tourism landscape.

Up to 400 delegates will hear from some of the industry’s best and brightest speakers, Including VisitScotland Chairman Lord John Thurso, who will consider the future of Scottish tourism, digital marketing expert Gary Ennis whose keynote speech ‘Anti-Social Media’ will cover the perils and pitfalls of social networking, and Mister Loch Ness himself, Willie Cameron.

As well as hearing from industry experts, those attending will have the chance to attend workshops that will focus on building skills in areas such as working with bloggers, social media strategies and content creation.

The event, to be held at Elgin Town Hall on November 8 will be Moray Speyside Tourism’s largest ever conference and will include a special ‘expo’ section showcasing support and services for the tourism industry, in addition to hearing from great speakers and offering an opportunity to network with industry colleagues.

Moray Speyside Tourism’s operations manager, Laurie Piper will also update delegates on the progress and the next stages of the campaign for the proposed Tourism Business Improvement District, which opens for ballot on December 4.

“This year’s conference will be the last under the banner of Moray Speyside Tourism. We’ve made tickets free as we want as many businesses than ever to get involved, to find out what we do to promote region and support their business and to hear about the benefits of the Tourism Business Improvement District. There’s no risk, and you’ll even get a free lunch.”

Since 2014, Moray Speyside Tourism have promoted our region as a world-class tourism destination, supported local tourism businesses and represented the region’s tourism industry at national level.

Over that time, the annual value of tourism to the Moray Speyside economy has grown by almost £30 million.
