tsiMoray volunteer hotlist spotlights Buckie opportunities

THREE Buckie volunteering opportunities have been highlighted in tsiMoray's latest volunteering hotlist.

The monthly list issued by the third sector umbrella organisation promotes openings at a wide variety of organisations which would welcome an extra pair of helping hands.

Blind Veterans UK would like to hear from somebody interested in being a sports volunteer for a veteran in Buckie, who would be very grateful if someone could help him do some archery. The sports volunteer will be on hand to make sure a person can fully participate in a safe way. Sometimes this will mean providing descriptions of things where they may not be able to see or guiding the veteran to help them orientate themselves. For this role, the charity looking for volunteers who are not afraid to get stuck in and have great experience and understanding of sport activities.

Volunteers need to be 18 years. Full training and support for volunteers, with the hours flexible to work around their commitments.

Buckie RNLI's shore-based fundraising team are keen to hear from new recruits.

The life-saving search and rescue charity's lifeboats have been launching into the waters of the Moray Firth for over 145 years but the crew could not launch without a strong fundraising team in

support. Volunteers could save lives at sea by helping organise and run fundraising activities in their neighbourhood or by sparing a couple of hours to help at a store collection.

Blackwood’s Peoplehood Project in Buckie need the help of volunteers to ensure some of the people they support are comfortable using their tablets (already provided) and make the most of their tech.

Digital Buddies combine befriending with digital literacy, so the role can include helping people set up their new devices, using video calls and messaging apps, as well as enjoying a chat to find some common interests.

This is an opportunity to be more involved in your local community and also a chance to develop their own skills and pursue a qualification in digital skills.
