Two men have been taken to hospital following a serious crash on the Huntly to Aberchirder road last night.

The incident happened on the A97 near Westertown Farm at about 9.30pm.

A white Volkswagen Amarok truck was travelling south before it crashed.

Emergency services attended and the 22-year-old driver and his 22-year old passenger were taken to hospital.

The road was closed as collision investigators conducted enquiries at the scene.

Sergeant Steve Manson said: "We are continuing our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch.

"We are particularly interested in any motorists with dash cams.

"Perhaps you captured the image of the truck before the crash.

"If you have any information, please contact us.”

Call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3806 of July 12.
