UHI Moray construction students honoured at awards ceremony
THE achievements of UHI Moray's students have been celebrated at their Construction Prize Giving Ceremony.
Approximately 30 awards were presented to students in all types of construction, such as plumbing, joinery, and electrical.
The winner of the night's top award– The Robertson Construction/Rotary Club of Elgin Top Craft Apprentice shield went to Marion Stewart, an apprentice plumber with GA Barnie in Elgin.
To win the Top Craft Award, Marion had to go up against the best third year students for electrical and joinery. The 22-year-old from Keith and also secured Best Overall Plumbing Apprentice, Best Advanced Craft Plumber, and Best Lead Development (third year) awards.
Jacqui Taylor from UHI Moray said: "This recognition of the outstanding achievements of our apprentices is very important to UHI Moray and we are very grateful to our awards sponsors for their ongoing support each year. The annual ceremony is a special time for the apprentices and their friends and families and we want to thank everyone involved".
