Vandals have slashed a polytunnel and also damaged furniture at a garden nursery near Elgin's Cooper Park.

The attack happened at Green Fingers Project between 4pm on Wednesday and 8am on Thursday.

A police spokesperson said: "A large poly tunnel has been slashed a number of times and garden furniture contained within has been upturned and thrown around, causing considerable damage and will be costly to repair.

"Although the owners have stated his is an isolated incident the nature of the damage appears to point to a targeted attack.

"Officers in Elgin are seeking the public’s assistance in providing any information in relation to this incident to prevent further damage and cost being inflicted on a project which provides so much to the community."
