The facility was targeted at the weekend.

A spokesperson for The Findhorn Village Conservation Company said: "Unfortunately due to vandalism in the beach car park toilets overnight on Friday 3rd September, we have had to close the gents loos.

"We are currently trying to arrange replacement and apologise for the inconvenience.

"We would like to thank those who have made donations for the upkeep of the car park and loos in the donation boxes and via text to date.

"While it is our plan to upgrade the toilet block if we are successful with our Community Asset Tranfer and infrastructure funding applications for the toilet blocks, we did not expect to face this mindless destruction which has created unexpected expenditure and restricted the facilities available to the public."

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 1575 of September 4."
