Police officers and fire investigators are continuing to probe the cause of a fire at an Inverness flat where a 57-year-old man died.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was first alerted at 2.26am this morning.
A total of four fire engines were sent to Queensgate – three from Inverness and one from Dingwall – to tackle the blaze inside the first floor flat which is in a three-storey building.
Emergency services were still on the scene at 9am as the investigation progressed.
Queensgate Shopping Centre was closed while they were fighting the fire but a Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed it has since been reopened.
A police spokeswoman added: "Around 2.50am on Wednesday, April 14, officers were called to reports of a fire within a property in Queensgate.
"Emergency services attended, and the body of a 57-year-old man was found within the property. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
"A joint investigation with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to establish the cause of the fire is ongoing."
