Moray Council confirmed that tree roots blocking a pipe had prevented fresh water from getting into the pond.

The issue has now been fixed, but the council added that it may take a while before things are back to normal.

A Moray Council spokesperson said: “We can confirm that there has been a problem with the pond’s water inlet pipe which had been blocked by tree roots.

"Work has been done to replace a section of pipe and water is now flowing back into the pond.

"We are monitoring this, but please note that it can take some time to replenish and clear.”
