OUTFIT Moray is set stage another down an iconic Moray building.

The Lossiemouth-based outdoor learning and adventure charity, which provides life-changing outdoor activities for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in Moray, aims to support other local good causes at the same time as boosting funds for its own work.

The abseil will take place on June 29, during Lossie’s annual Seafest festival, which runs from Saturday, June 29 to Sunday, July 7. Visitors come from far and wide for the week-long celebration.

Community and corporate fundraiser Karen Cox said: "Last year’s event was so successful and so many different charities got involved, including North East Sensory Services, Clan Cancer Support and SFEAR Kickboxing. This year we want to beat the £4000-plus raised for local good causes and are extremely grateful that Jason Fletcher, of Forty Four Queen Street, was more than happy to carry on where Grampian Furnishers left off.

"Fundraising is becoming more and more difficult for smaller, more local charities. With little or no budget for fundraising, most cannot afford to pay the entry fees of some of the bigger, high-profile events, so often struggle to find different events to entice their supporters.

"We already have lots of different groups signed up, including Clan Cancer Support, Logan’s Fund, Dyke Pre-School, Cornerstone, Enable Scotland, IT Central and the Forres Baptist Church."

Outfit Moray is inviting fundraiser participants to step forward. Entry is free as long as £20 is raised in sponsorship. Anyone interested should contact Karen for more information on 01343 549571.

Outfit Moray hopes to attract many onlookers to James Square for its second abseil, between 10am-4pm on the day. Refreshments will be close at hand, with Upstairs@44 serving meals and cakes. The owner has pledged a free drink to all those taking part.
