STUDENTS at Weir Black Belt Academy in Elgin have paid tribute to front line workers in the battle with coronavirus.

With the clap for carers trend continuing on Thursday nights at 8pm, Weir Black Belt Academy encouraged their younger members to take part.

Sensei Ross Weir said: "At Weir Black Belt Academy we teach respect and manners and what better way is there for our kids to show their respect than to clap our front line workers?"

Students at the martial arts school have been working hard from home, and online, during the covid-19 pandemic.

Mr Weir is running daily classes, on Zoom, for kids and adults alike, in a bid to retain a sense of normality.

The Academy's manager Cara Weir, meanwhile, has been busy organising various other activities, including challenges, art projects and a weekly quiz.
