BUCKIE Choral's popular Christmas concert is set to make a welcome return after a two-year break.
After the disruption caused by the Covid pandemic, the group are delighted to be able to sing in
public again, and to perform their first concert under the baton of new conductor, Brian Smith.
Choir members have enjoyed making music together once more and are very happy that young
string players from Buckie Community High School will also be taking part, giving them the
chance to experience playing for an audience.
The concert will feature a wide range of music, with the second half being devoted to Christmas
pieces. The choir will also sing a couple of choruses from Handel’s Messiah – a taster of the
delayed golden anniversary performance which will now be taking place in April 2023.
Hosted by St Peter's RC Church in Buckie, the concert will get under way at 7.30pm on Sunday, December 11. Tickets cost £5 at the door and there will be refreshments and a raffle available on the night.
Buckie Choral are keen to hear from people who would be interested in helping them perform the Messiah next year. Rehearsals for it will start in January – for more information, email buckiechoral@mail.com
