Local knowledge is being sought to identify exactly where the picture on this postcard was taken.

.

The image shows a Royal Aircraft Factory BE2C, which were active during the First World War.

Plane enthusiast Dick Hewitt, who used to live in Cummingston, purchased the postcard locally several years ago.

The retired bank worker, who now resides in Surrey, said: "I've been interested in planes for the past 70 years.

"I was also a long-time collector of memorabilia to do with the local area.

"The postcard came in a clear plastic envelope marked 'Burghead' so I decided to buy it.

"However, I've since sent a copy of it to Dan Ralph, the Clavie King, and he's not sure where it could be in the village, or whether it's Burghead at all.

"If anyone can suggest where and when this photo was taken I'd be very pleased to hear from them."
