A POPULAR fairy village has officially opened for the new season.

David Brown and his daughter Elise were busy over the winter, preparing the village for its third year.

The project started after Mr Brown saw an American fairy village online.

He said: “I thought it was a really nice idea. We put a house out where no-one would find it and someone did, so we added another and it just snowballed from there.”

Councillor Louise Laing declared the village open.

Mr Brown added: “It has completely changed.

“I’ve put all new houses out and added seating areas and made it more interactive for the kids.”

More information and directions can be found on the Dufftown Fairy Village Facebook page.
