Witness appeal after serious A96 crash near Huntly

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious three-vehicle crash on the A96 last week,

The collision happened near Cairn Hill, between Huntly and Inverurie, at about 5.40pm last Thursday.

A red Honda Jazz, a grey Vauxhall Insignia and a grey Ford Ranger were all involved.

The 54-year-old man driving the Vauxhall was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries. His current condition is described as stable.

A 53-year-old man at the wheel of the Ford was also treated at the same hospital.

The road was closed while investigations were carried out. before reopening again close to midnight.

PC Callum Hogg said: "Our enquiries into the full circumstances of the crash are continuing and we are asking anyone with information that could assist officers to get in touch.

"In particular, if you saw the vehicles before the crash or have dash-cam then please make contact with us."

Call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2858 of Thursday, September 14.
