A MORAY woman spat in the face of a door steward after being thrown out of an Elgin pub.

Mia Anderson (31), of Inchbroom Avenue, Lossiemouth, was removed from The Granary in the town on August 27, 2021.

But she repeatedly attempted to return to the premises before spitting at a doorman.

Anderson admitted assault when appearing at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Fiscal depute Robert Weir said: "She was involved in an altercation and was escorted out.

"She made attempts to re-enter numerous times and when the security guard approached her, she spat in his face. She was intoxicated at the time."

Sentence was deferred until September 5 for a background report.
