THE stage is being set in Forres for the third women in business conference to celebrate the wealth of female entrepreneurs in the region and beyond.

Moray Business Women’s Club will host the networking event, which will include workshops, a lunch and inspirational speakers.

The group first held a conference in 2017 and it proved a show-stopper on its calendar. This year’s event will take place on June 12 at Horizon Scotland.

The workshops will focus on public relations, communication, managing time-keeping and how to be significant within your company.

Sam Dowdall, president of the Moray Business Women’s Club, said: "This is the third year the conference will take place, and it has become an important and popular event for us. Up until three years ago, we had never done anything like this, but the first one proved such a success that we have continued with it."

Sam promised "something for everyone". She added: "We have four really great workshops lined up and our delegates can pick two from what we have on offer.

"This is not a boring, 'sit on your backside' type of conference. The speakers we have are energetic, fun, have great business stories to tell and useful information to share. Many of the workshops will be interactive and we have no doubt that the attendees will have a lot of fun and, of course, there will be networking opportunities at the same time.

"The event is for any women in business, whether they be a company director, sole trader, employee or otherwise."

Angie Foreman, of Coca Cola 5by20, an initiative which has made a global commitment to enable the economic empowerment of five million female entrepreneurs by 2020, will close the event. She will share her experiences as a social entrepreneur and encourage guests to offer up business pledges that other businesswomen can use.

Sam said: "A group of us attended the Association of Scottish Business Women conference in Glasgow last month and Angie spoke at that. We thought she was great and very inspirational, so decided to invite her north to address all of our members and guests."

Both members and non-members are welcome. Booking for the event, which will run between 10am-4pm, can be done via Eventbrite at http://mbwc.org.uk/events/
