A Met Office yellow warning remains in place for the remainder of Thursday and during Friday across Moray and the north of Scotland.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Drivers should plan ahead, allow time for your journey and ensure you have enough fuel, warm clothing, food, water and a charged mobile in case of any delays."

Heavy snowfall overnight, combined with falling temperatures made for difficult driving conditions first thing on Thursday morning.

And it could be a similar situation for Friday, with the weather to turn milder over the weekend.
