Rothes folk are going to pay a very personal tribute to the everyday heroes in their own town this evening.

.

At 8pm the local football club is going to use its tannoys to blast out the tune 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.

Meanwhile, townsfolk are being encouraged to turn up their own stereos and phones to full blast and play the anthem as well.

Cllr Louise Laing, who represents the town on Moray Council, said: "Last night's national Clap for Carers event was about saying thank-you the NHS.

"This evening in Rothes it's about our postie and our shops which are still open, and it's about the home carers who look after people in our town.

"They deserve thanks too.

"We'd love as many people around the town to come to their doors and windows and join in.

"Let's make it loud."
