Two penalties by Craig Gunn had City 2-1 ahead before they collapsed to another loss on the road.

It means Jim Weir’s side have failed to win in their last seven away games, including six defeats.

An Elgin side buoyed by three straight home wins went into Saturday’s contest with an unchanged line-up from the one which beat leaders Annan 3-2 the week before.

They started poorly with Mark McLaughlin putting Clyde ahead in under two minutes from a Michael Bolochoweckyj free kick.

Gunn levelled from the spot on 11 minutes, scoring on the only League 2 ground he had yet to find a goal on for City.

He scored a second penalty to lift his team’s hopes of breaking their poor run of results on their travels.

However, within 4 minutes Scott Ferguson made it 2-2 and the sides went in at the break all square.

Former Elgin striker David Gormley came back to haunt his old team by putting Clyde in front early in the second half.

There was a further blow for the visitors when centre back Liam Gordon limped off to be replaced by a semi-fit Mark Nicolson.

Hopes of a City equaliser were briefly raised when Clyde had Chris Mitchell sent off with ten minutes to go.

However the ten men of Bully Wee lifted their game and sealed victory with a fourth goal by Scott Linton six minutes from time.

In the Highland League, Keith were Moray’s only winners as they staved off a brave challenge by neighbours Rothes to win 3-2 at Kynoch Park.

Ex-Rothes man Kris Duncan gave Keith the lead at the break before Speysiders trialist David Lawrence equalised early in the second half.

Another former Rothes man Mike Ewen netted a fine strike to regain the lead for Keith and on-loan Inverurie Locos defender Sam Pugh made it 3-1.

Skipper Donald Horsburgh pulled one back for the visitors late on but the Maroons held on for victory in manager Allan Hale’s first game in charge.

There were heavy home defeats for Buckie Thistle and Forres Mechanics against title challenging opponents.

Buckie crashed 5-0 against leaders Cove Rangers, who made it 16 wins out of 16 with a slick display at Victoria Park.

Forres lost by the same scoreline against Formartine United, and Lossiemouth were beaten 2-0 away to champions Brora Rangers.

Twitter:

Wick won 2-1 at Clach, Deveronvale surprised hosts Fraserburgh 1-0, Huntly lost 4-2 at home to Turriff, Strathspey edged out Fort William 2-1 and Inverurie drew 1-1 with Nairn.
