HOME comforts faded for Elgin City on Tuesday night as their poor away form continued with a 2-0 defeat against Bonnyrigg Rose at New Dundas Park.

A double from Conor Doan – with a goal in either half – saw the hosts collect all three points.

Doan grabbed his first goal after 20 minutes, and added a second 10 minutes into the second half when he finished a cross from a Reis Peggie cross.

The result means City miss the chance to move into the top half, remaining eighth.

City have been charging up the League Two table under Allan Hale on the back of some tremendous home form.

Hale has taken charge of 10 matches as City manager – six at home and four away. They have won four of six at Borough Briggs, but lost all four on the road.

And this form has been evident all season. City's home form is the second best in League Two – picking up 23 points from 12 games, scoring 14 and conceding 11.

In stark contrast, the Black and Whites have collected just a single point on the road (a 0-0 at Forfar in August), playing 11, scoring five and conceding 29.

City are on the road again this weekend, travelling to the capital to take on a Spartans side that are sitting third in the league.
