A FORRES bowling club has raised £1100 for charity with an annual pairs event in memory of a former player.

Forres Victoria Indoor Bowling Club held its Charity Open Pairs competition, which culminated with a final on Sunday, February 11.

The charity of the year was Quarriers Moray and an initial estimate is that approximately £1100 has been raised.

The competition, which will now become an annual fixture, was played in memory of Caitlin Dustan, a young member who died in May 2022.

The Davidson family have provided the Caitlin Dustan Shield as a trophy for the event.

Winners of the event were Davie Bell and Karen Delgarno, who beat Pauline and David Mavor in a well-fought final.

In closing the event, club president Charlie Watt thanked all the participating 33 teams, as well as the match secretary and those helping in the kitchen.

Thanks was given to Tesco, The Codfather from Buckie, Chris Knight Plant Hire from Nairn and Dunphail Distillery for sponsoring the event.
