The 34-year-old former Caley Thistle and Ross County player accepted the job offer today on a three-year managerial deal.

Draper will continue to work with club coaches Charlie Charlesworth and Stevie Dunn, who worked with him as interim co-bosses to hep steer City away from League 2 relegation at the end of last season.

Elgin chairman Graham Tatters said he was delighted to appoint a boss with the desire to succeed and progress in football.

"It's great for the club," he said. "He's young, ambitious and wants to to develop and become a manager at the highest level and we are giving him a starting point at Elgin City Football Club."

Draper will look to appoint an assistant in due course and has been speaking to Elgin's out-of-contract players this week.

Russell Dingwall, Darryl McHardy and Angus Mailer are all speaking to the club about signing another deal.
