NEW boss Fraser Bremner inspired Rothes to their first point of the Highland League season.

In Bremner’s first game at the Speysiders’ helm, his side held Buckie Thistle to a 2-2 draw,

Rothes had lost their first 15 league fixtures this term but produced a much improved show to impress their new manager.

Two penalty kicks by former Buckie striker Craig MacMillan saw the home side twice come from behind to level.

Kyle Gauld and Dennis Wyness had given Jags the lead at 1-0 and 2-1.

There was another surprise result in Moray when Keith, watched by new boss Allan Hale, won 2-1 at Lossiemouth.

The Maroons, bossed by caretaker manager Jim Stables for the last time, took the lead when Jim’s son Finlay scored on 7 minutes.

Scott Miller levelled for Lossie early in the second half but Matty McDonald plundered a late winner for Keith.

Forres Mechanics lost 3-1 in their derby away to Nairn County.

A Conor Gethins goal was cancelled out by Dachi Khutsishvili’s equaliser for Mechanics a minute before half time.

Nairn went straight up the park to score through Tony Wallace and make it 2-1 at the break.

And Gethins clinched it with his second and County’s third at the death.

Cove had maintained their 100% record with a 1-0 win at home to Turriff on Friday night at Inverurie.

Formartine beat Strathspey 6-1 on Saturday, Clach edged out Inverurie 2-1, Wick and Fraserburgh drew 0-0 and the Fort William v Huntly game was postponed.
