BUCKIE Thistle took the honours in the ‘fishers’ derby’ with a 3-0 win at Lossiemouth on Wednesday night.
The Highland League clash paired new Lossie boss Iain MacRae with his hometown club, who he played for in recent seasons.
The Coasters were keen to shake off the disappointment of Saturday’s North Cup final defeat to Brora Rangers and held Jags to a goalless first half.
But Buckie, with winger Stuart Yaylor back in their team after a long spell out injured, took just four minutes of the second half to break the deadlock.
It was Taylor who set up the goal with a cross for John McLeod to send a header high past keeper Stewart Black.
Shaun Carrol made it 2-0 from the penalty spot and Stevie Ross scored an easy third on 75 minutes to seal the points for Buckie.
Keith’s bid to secure a second consecutive league win was foiled by a late Wick Academy equaliser.
The Maroons dominated the first half at Kynoch Park and were rewarded by a goal from on-loan Caley Thistle youngster Mitch Foy on 36 minutes.
The Caithness side came more into it after the break and ex-Forres Mechanics man Gordon McNab equalised with 14 minutes to go.
Huntly won 5-2 at Nairn County and Clach were 2-1 winners over bottom side Fort William.
