Jags, with new goalkeeper Stuart Knight starting in his debut appearance, defeated former Highland League foes Peterhead 3-2 at Victoria Park on Tuesday.

Knight was the only one of Buckie manager Graeme Stewart's five summer signings to start against a Blue Toon side relegated from League 1 last season.

Marcus Goodall fired Jags in front before ex-Inverurie Locos man Kieran Shanks levelled from the spot.

Ex-Elgin City man Josh Peters regained the home lead and a Buckie side, with Dale Wood and Jack MacIver on as substututes for their debuts, increased their lead through another sub, Kyle MacLeod.

A second Shanks penalty gave Peterhead a consolation.

Buckie were without their highest profile signing of the close season, former Elgin defender Darryl McHardy who was unavailable.

New deputy keeper Euan Storrier was on the Buckie bench.
