Buckie Thistle appeal for help as pitch inspection required at Victoria Park for tonight's crucial Highland League match against Wick Academy

BUCKIE Thistle's vital title clash with Wick academy could be in doubt tonight.

A pitch inspection is being held at Victoria Park this afternoon, with water lying in sections of the park including one of the goalmouths.

"We are looking for volunteers to help fork the pitch prior to inspection at 12pm," said a club spokesperson.

Buckie need to win tonight to keep the pressure on Fraserburgh ahead of Saturday's final fixtures for both clubs.

Leaders Fraserburgh host Forres Mechanics on Saturday knowing a win will clinch them the league championship.

Jags, who are aiming to grab their 24th consecutive league victory tonight, visit Clach on Saturday hoping for a Broch slip-up.
