Jags took a big step towards the crown by ending Carisbrooke’s lingering hopes with a 3-2 win over the Forres side on Friday night.

Zac Mylchreest’s winning goal took Elgin nine points clear at the top with just Sappers to play on Friday.

The Army side were then awarded a 2-0 win in their scheduled game tonight when Carisbrooke called off due to a growing injury list.

Kinloss still have two games remaining and have to win them both to force a league play-off

Six goals by Fraser Thom led Mosset Tavern to a 10-1 win over FC Elgin. Matthew Herley (2), David Bromley and Rory Grant also scored for the Forres men.

And a tremendous curled strike by 57-year-old Peter Wilson was the highlight of Elgin Albion’s 4-3 victory over The Vikings – surely one of the oldest scorers in the league’s history.
