Change is essential

CHANGE in Scottish football is essential, insists Elgin City director Martyn Hunter, and the final solution may not suit everybody.

The long-term viability of Elgin City has to be the first priority for the club’s directors when weighing up the final proposals for league reconstruction.

And if they are convinced that is the case, the club will then look to embrace and make a success of whatever league set-up is put in place.

Fans will ultimately vote with their feet when it comes to a future league set-up, and Elgin have already received some feedback from supporters and would welcome more as they continue their deliberations.

Hunter (66), who has day-to-day responsibility for the running of the Borough Briggs club, admits there is still much talking to be done before any agreement is in place.
