Annan Athletic 1, Elgin City 1

ELGIN City boss Ross Jack admitted he was disappointed to leave Galabank with just one point.

The draw leaves City in fourth place in the third division table, six points behind leaders Annan.

Despite becoming the first team to take a point off the leaders at home this season, Jack felt his side had chances to take all three points.

Brian Cameron gave the Moray side the perfect start with a goal after just four minutes. However, Annan hit back with 14 minutes remaining through Gibson.

"It was a great start and a good goal from Soapy. We totally dominated the first half and missed good opportunities to get a second goal," said Jack.

"In the second half we knew they would have a spell in the game where they were on top.

"They scored a flukey goal when one of their boys had a shot and it hit off another of their players and went in.

"Before the game we would have taken a point against the league leaders but I felt we deserved to take all three.

"We allowed Annan to pin us back too much in the second half but we still had good chances to score.

"Their keeper made a fantastic save from Kaz (Paul Kaczan) and right at the death Jason Crooks rounded the keeper but was pushed too wide and couldn't score.

"We are slightly disappointed to leave with just a point but we have got to take the positives from the game," added Jack.

The focus now will switch to next weekend's Scottish Cup match at Highland League Fraserburgh, with City expected to take a good support through for that encounter.
