KEITH manager Dean Donaldson will dust off his boots and name himself as a substitute for tonight's Highland League match against Formartine United.

Injuries to Ryan Spink and Sam Robertson have left the Maroons squad down to the bare bones for United's visit to Kynoch Park.

"I'm going to go on the bench myself as a trialist," he said. "I don't know if I'll go on or not – I'm hoping I don't have to but we will have a young team out there.

"If they are needing a bit of experience I might have to put myself on."

With top scorer Cammy Keith overseas, Donaldson was happy to see his team score three goals in his abnsence and pick up their first league win since November when they won 3-23 at Strathspey on Saturday.

Stewart Hutcheon, Max Berton and Michael Selfridge all scored their first goals of the campaign to take Keith to the three points.

As well as being without top scorer Cammy, as well as the injured Spink and Robertson, Keith are missing Scott Begg.

Forres Mechanics make the trip to Inverurie in a bid to become the first team to inflict a league defeat on champions Cove Rangers.

Mechanics moved into fourth spot on Saturday with their 17th league victory out of their last 20 outings, winning 2-1 at Turriff.

They now face a battle with Fraserburgh to grab a top four position which would gain them entry to next year's Irn Bru Challenge Cup competition alongside all the SPFL clubs outwith the Premiership.

However, Forres manager Charlie Rowley believes his team may have to get a result at all-conquering Cove on Wednesday night to achieve their goal.

While Mechanics form over the past six months has been mightily impressive, Cove are desperate to finish their league campaign undefeated after winning 28 and drawing three of their 31 games so far.

"We have got ourselves into this position and now we go and play the best team the Highland League has seen in a long time," said Rowley (pictured, right).

"We have got to try and do something that no other team has done in the league so far and that is beat them.

"Having said that, a draw might still give us the opportunity to get into the top four, given that Fraserburgh are away at Brora on Wednesday."

Forres are three points ahead of Fraserburgh, who have a game in hand.

While the Cans have a tough game against Cove they finish at home to lowly Lossiemouth on Saturday.

After Broch's trip to Brora in midweek they are away to Rothes and Strathspey, and have a better goal difference than Forres. Even if the Buchan side lost on Wednesday night, Forres may need four points to ensure their Irn Bru Cup qualification.

Rothes will be without assistant boss Daniel Moore for their home game against Wick Academy.

Moore's season has been ended by a hamstring pull while Blair Maclennan is out with a knee injury and Dale Gillespie is struggling.

Keeper Darren McConnachie is expected to return after missing Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Huntly.

In the night's other games, Nairn host Turriff and the bottom two clash as Fort William visit Strathspey.
